This fall brought with it a major milestone for me, with the Studio Kahaani showroom landing on the cover of the Ottawa at Home Magazine’s home and design issue.

Retail has always been a powerful portal through which I can travel, dream, and connect. Opening a showroom is yet another step on my path to create space.

My schedule was truly packed this last trip to India, and I took my daughter everywhere with me. Just as I used to do as a young girl, she didn’t leave home without a book.

This year began with a journey for me, a trip of exploration and connection. Of new footsteps, navigating their way through ancient places.

The last few weeks have been busy with the launch of Studio Kahaani’s online boutique, as well as the first foray for the brand at an in-person holiday market.

This oval window is one of my favourite details on our late Victorian house, and gives a glimpse of the story we’re creating as we make it a home.

By delving deeper into the world of Indian handlooms, I’ve also been connecting with others who share a commitment to preserving and promoting traditional textiles and techniques.

My father’s roots are from Andhra Pradesh in southern India. It is a storied region - culturally, economically, and personally.
